The illustrated study kit for the nursing school entrance exam. One idea and one drawing per page, sized for your phone.
Swipe through real pages from Book 1. Every page is one idea, one drawing, and the section and sub-area it belongs to on ATI's outline.
102-page Book 1, 80 rapid review cards, 150 words and formulas.
A drawing does the explaining, and the text stays short.
Portrait pages sized for a phone screen. Print them if you prefer paper.
About 3 in 10 are turned away
That’s ATI’s own figure for qualified applicants to ADN, diploma and BSN programs.
The toughest topics are the ones that are easy to mix up and hard to memorize:

A picture is easier to remember than a list of terms. That’s why every one of these is drawn out in the kit.
ATI, TEAS exam details: “30% of qualified applicants are turned away from ADN, Diploma, and BSN programs.” Read October 17, 2026.
The science section is full of near-twins. The kit puts them side by side, names the mix-up, and gives you a hook to keep them straight.
Mitosis: two identical diploid cells. Meiosis: four different haploid gametes. Only meiosis halves the chromosome count.
Book 1, page 33
Arteries carry blood away from the heart, whichever gas it holds. Exchange happens only in capillaries.
Book 1, pages 16 and 17
Fight or flight against rest and digest. Same organs, opposite effects. Sympathetic sprints; parasympathetic sits down to dinner.
Book 1, page 22
Innate is fast but treats every invader the same. Adaptive is slow at first but remembers. Innate means inborn; adaptive adapts and remembers.
Book 1, page 29
Every page carries an Exam Trap, and every page with a real memory hook carries one:
Pulmonary arteries: oxygen-poor. Pulmonary veins: oxygen-rich. Arteries carry blood away from the heart, whichever gas it holds.
Valves in order: Try Pulling My Aorta (tricuspid, pulmonary, mitral, aortic).
Quoted word for word from Book 1, page 16, The path of blood.
Real hooks from Book 1, like "Want on top, have on the bottom" for setting up a unit conversion so the units cancel.
The main book. 102 illustrated pages in the four sections of the ATI TEAS® 7, sized from ATI's scored outline: Science gets the most pages because it is the heaviest section and the one the drawings teach best, and every body system gets its own page.
80 cards, one per page: the prompt on top, the answer underneath, and the Book 1 page to go back to if you missed it. Half are science, and many put two look-alike terms side by side. For the last week before your test date.
An illustrated A to Z of 150 entries: the science terms as the exam uses them, the word parts you will meet again in nursing school (cardi-, -itis, hyper-, hypo-), the math formulas and conversions with a worked example each, and the grammar and reading terms. Each entry names its Book 1 page, and a one-page formula and conversion sheet closes the book.

Made Simple guides are independent study aids. No guide can guarantee a passing score.
Anatomy and chemistry are done or nearly done, the application window is open, and your program's cut is competitive. You need the score to clear it, not another textbook.
You already know the work. The exam asks for it in textbook words, and you study on your phone between shifts. Here it is, one page at a time.
The last time you did fractions was high school, and a sitting is booked. Every math page shows the method step by step, with the trap answer named, so the rust comes off fast.
No gimmicks and no shortcuts. Just ATI's published outline, drawn clearly.
Every page starts from the ATI TEAS® Version 7 Content Outline and uses the same terms as the standard open textbooks for anatomy and physiology, biology and chemistry.
Where textbooks disagree, or a target varies by program, the page says so in plain words instead of picking one answer and hoping.
Each page carries its section, sub-area and ATI objective code. Nothing is in the kit because it filled a page.

The ATI TEAS® 7, all four sections: Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage. Book 1 is organized by ATI's published content outline, and every page carries its section, sub-area and objective code. It is not written for the HESI A2, which is a different exam with its own outline.
There is no national pass mark. Each program sets its own composite and section targets, attempt limit and waiting period, and they change year to year. Check your program below: if it's on our map you see its published targets with the date we read them; if not, the answer is on your program's admissions page, and the book shows you what to look for.
Yes. Book 1 opens with a page on each of the five types as they look on screen, and the kit's practice questions (sold at checkout) include multiple select, fill in the blank, ordered response and hot spot items, scored all or nothing as on the exam.
Yes. The pages are portrait, phone-sized, and built around one idea each. They print fine too.
No. Nurse Made Simple is an independent study aid built from ATI's publicly available content outline and standard open textbooks. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by Assessment Technologies Institute, LLC (ATI), PSI, Elsevier (HESI), any college, university, nursing school or program, any state board of nursing, or OpenStax. It is not a course and does not count toward any program's prerequisites or admission requirements.

The ATI TEAS® 7 is 170 questions in 209 minutes, four sections timed separately. Every page of Book 1 names the section and sub-area it belongs to, so you always know where you are on the outline.
One national exam since June 2022, taken online at ATI, at a PSI test center or at your school. Each program sets its own target score.
The other 20 questions are unscored pretest items mixed into the sections. A four-function calculator is built into the Math section. Unanswered questions count as wrong, so there is no penalty for guessing.
About one in five is not multiple choice. Every question is scored all or nothing.
Bands describe a score. They are not a pass mark: programs quote them when they set their own targets.
Sources: ATI TEAS Version 7 Content Outline (ATI, 2022); ATI help pages on content areas and question counts (modified September 17, 2026), time limits, item types and the calculator; ATI TEAS 7 sample score report for the bands. There is no national pass mark. Each program publishes its own targets, and we read them straight from the program's own page. Pick yours to see what it said, and when we read it.
Programs on our map ask for anything from a Basic band to a composite in the high 70s, and many add section floors, most often in Science. The same score can clear one program and miss another.
ATI sets no cap and no waiting period, but your program does. Two or three attempts a year with a 30-day wait is common, and some count only the first sitting.
Open your program's admissions page and look for three things: the composite target, any section targets, and the attempt rule. The book's "How scores and program targets work" page shows where they usually hide.
Targets, attempt limits and waiting periods were read from each program's own page on the date shown. Programs change their rules every year, so confirm on your program's page before you register. This map is a sample of programs, not a rule for any program that isn't on it.

The entrance exam doesn't have to be the scary part of applying. You don't need to reread the textbook. You need to see how the material fits together, the way ATI's outline lays it out.
